Mary Briner began her bodywork career, after spending 20 years as a legal assistant for a reputable
law firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mary graduated from the Pacific School of Healing Arts in
Gualala, CA, in May 2000, and opened a practice as a Certified Massage Practitioner, from her home,
in Livermore, CA. Mary’s love, very personal experience and deep respect for people, led her to
specialize in caring for critical care/end stage of life patients. In 2006, as a graduate of
Port Townsend School of Massage,
she became licensed in WA and nationally through the
NCTMB. Memberships in the past have
included the AMTA’s, MERT
responder team, a team who responds to do emergency massage for fire fighters, police and other
emergency responders, during disasters events, and has been an assistant instructor doing Deep Tissue,
Clinical Treatment and Pregnancy Massage at the Port Townsend School of Massage.
From the experience of many healing methods, Mary blends both the Eastern and Western approach to
massage in her sessions. Mary has been trained in Lymphatic Facilitation, Myofacial Release,
Trigger Point Therapy, Massage Cupping, Pregnancy Massage, Therapeutic Touch, Swedish Massage,
Deep Tissue, and Hydro-Therapy.
Mary, her husband Mark, their two children, Grace and Hunter, and dog named Mazie reside in Poulsbo,
WA. They love to play in the outdoors, and sometimes on a good day, Mary can be found on the Racquet
Ball courts, of the Poulsbo Athletic Club.
